DAY ONE: July 12, 2001
ARRIVAL IN JAKARTA

On Thursday, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani and a small delegation of ISCA officials arrived in Jakarta for meetings with government representatives and to attend a mass-gathering of ulama` from around the world sponsored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the University of Jakarta.

After arrival, the Shaykh and his entourage were driven by official government limousines to the Haqqani Yayasan zawiya in Jakarta, where they were greeted by over five hundred mureeds.

Shaykh Hisham conducted a lively Dhikr session. After the Dhikr and sohbat on the secret behind the letters of the kalimat ul-sharif, the floor was opened up for questions and answers. Following that all present took baya` (initiation) in the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order.
