Gathering at Jenda Baik

Malaysians Bid Farewell ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani

July 18, 2003

On the last of Shaykh Kabbani and the ISCA delegation's visit to Malaysia, the Shaykh gathered with supporters and students in the new Malaysian zawiya, located in Jenda Baik. Built by the Haqqani Group of Malaysia, this secluded location provides a serene atmosphere for remembrance of God, contemplation and a focus on spirituality.
The Shaykh and the visiting delegates were welcomed, as traditional in Malaysia, by the singing of Praise on Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, accompanied by drumming and the tambourine.
Present at the gathering were over seven hundred persons from around Malaysia, from Batam Island (Indonesia), Jakarta as well as over two hundred from Singapore who had come over in five tour buses in order to meet with Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.
Shaykh Hisham with His Royal Highness Raja Ashman ibnu Sultan Azlan Shah and Dato Mohamed Muiz.
Women in particular sought the Shaykh's blessing for their children - his prayer for their health and good character.
As always in such meetings, a large number of new students requested initiation in the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order.

After a lavish dinner, night prayers were followed by a rousing dhikr (recitation of God's Names and Attributes).
