After the Shaykhs arrived from the airport to the home of Professor DaCosta, a sumptuous meal was served to all the guests from abroad, including a number who met up with the delegation at the airport. Only a select group of mureeds were allowed to visit the Shaykhs that day, thereby allowing them to rest after the long flight fromTurkey. Following a good rest at the home of host Professor Yusuf Da Costa, Shaykh Nazim took a trip to the Cape Town beach. There, under a heavy gale-strength wind, the Shaykh ventured onto the sand, which sometimes blew past at over 80 mph. With a phalanx of mureeds surrounding him, the Shaykh came right up to the shore where he made a long dua for the blessing of South Africa with the light of the Naqshbandi Order.

Returning to Dr. Da Costa's home, the Shaykh relaxed in the living room while excited Cape Town mureeds visited and listened to the Shaykh speak. A late night dinner was served and all turned in early, in preparation for a heavy schedule the following day, starting at 3:30 am with salat al-tahajjud and the night vigil.
