Shaykh Nazim is introduced to the over-capacity congregation at the Afghan Islamic Center in Flushing New York on September 1, 2000.

Shaykh Nazim proceeded to deliver the Jumu`ah khutba, emphasizing the need to hold to the way of Ahl as-Sunna wal-Jama`at and not to follow those who claim they will "reform" Islam.

The Jumu`ah prayers were followed by the Sunnahs.

Then Shaykh Nazim led the tasbih according to the Sunna followed by du`a.

After the du`a, the khutba of Shaykh Nazim is translated into Farsi.

Upon completion of the Sunnas, tasbih and du`a and translation, the Imam announced that anyone wishing to meet the Shaykh could come forward.

Immediately a large throng gathered around Shaykh Nazim, asking for initiation into the Naqshbandi Tariqat.

Following the many initiations given (several hundred at once), the entire jama`at was invited for lunch in the mosque's large cafeteria.

Following lunch, Shaykh Nazim was mobbed as he walked to his waiting ride.

Hundreds of women came seeking the Shaykh's invocations.

It took over one hour to leave, as each member of the throng kissed the Shaykh's hand and requested his du`a.
